By accessing or using Xerol services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. We only collect information that is necessary to deliver, improve and personalize our service, and we are committed to protecting your creative work and personal space data you share with us.

We will never sell your personal information, uploaded photos or design projects to third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit written consent.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us voluntarily:

Account information (if you register for an account): email address, username, profile picture you choose to upload
User-generated content: photos of your outdoor spaces (patio, balcony, garden), virtual furniture/plant placement layouts, saved design projects, notes you add to your plans
Optional location information: if you grant location permission, we collect approximate location data to automatically calculate local sun path and seasonal shadow changes for your area
Support communications: if you contact our support team, we will collect the content of your messages and contact information to resolve your issues

Automatically collected information:

Usage data: features you use, time spent on the app, number of projects created, export frequency, to help us optimize product performance
Device information: device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, crash reports to improve service stability

3. How We Use Your Information

Deliver core services: process your uploaded photos to render realistic shadow simulations, save your design projects, generate exportable visual plans
Personalize your experience: save your preferred furniture/plant libraries, remember your common sun path settings
Improve our product: anonymized usage data helps us optimize shadow rendering accuracy, improve user interface design, and develop new features that meet user needs
Optional contributions: if you opt in to our data contribution program, anonymized layout and shadow test data may be used to train our AI algorithm to deliver more accurate simulation results (your original photos will never be included in this training data)
Send service communications: account verification emails, important service updates, security notifications, or responses to your support requests
Prevent abuse: detect and prevent fraudulent activity, violations of our terms of service, and other harmful behavior on our platform

4. Information Sharing

We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

With your explicit consent: when you choose to share your design plans via link export, email, or third-party integration, the content you choose to share will be accessible to the recipients you specify
Service providers: we share limited data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our service, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors (for premium feature purchases), and customer support tools. All third parties are bound by strict data protection obligations and may not use your data for any other purpose
Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required to do so by applicable law, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others

We will never sell your personal data, uploaded photos, or design projects to advertisers or third-party marketing companies.

5. Your Rights & Controls

You have full control over your data at all times:

Access & export: you can download all your saved projects, uploaded photos, and account information at any time from your account settings
Edit & delete: you can edit your account information, delete individual projects, or permanently delete your entire account and all associated data. Account deletion requests are processed within 7 business days
Permission controls: you can turn off location permissions at any time from your device settings, you will still be able to use all Xerol features by manually selecting your location for sun path calculation
Opt out of marketing: you can unsubscribe from non-essential marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our emails, or adjusting your notification settings in the app
Guest mode: if you use Xerol without registering an account, all your projects are stored locally on your device and we do not collect any of your design data unless you choose to create an account to sync your projects

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure:

All data transmission between your device and our servers is encrypted via TLS 1.3 protocol
Stored user data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 encryption
We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing of our systems to identify and fix vulnerabilities
Access to user data is restricted to authorized staff only, who are bound by strict confidentiality agreements

While we take all reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Xerol services are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will immediately delete that information from our systems.
